Parenting Classes
"How To Talk So Kids Will Listen and Listen So Kids Will Talk" is a 6-week class which incorporates videos, interactions, role play and discussions to increase communication skills. It has been used for parents of children 18 months to young adult. Others have found it helpful when caretaking their aging parents, and dealing with their spouse or coworkers. It teaches respectful communication a person can use with anyone in their life.

"Little Ones" is a 6-week course designed for parents of children birth to 2 1/2 years of age. Videos, discussions and hadouts are used to increase knowledge about parenting, relationships, developmental milestones, safety issues and more.

Playgroups
Free playgroups are offered each week for parents or primary caregivers and their children ages birth through 60 months and any preschool age sibling.

Playgroups are in Alanson, Boyne City, East Jordan, and Petoskey.

  • Families participate in fun activities such as games, crafts and music.
  • There is also time for informal support between parents.
  • The group facilitator will assist with accessing resources and networking within the community.
